"Serving our community since 1947"

We're Looking for a few good neighbors!!

Being an EMS volunteer requires commitment and a willingness to meet the challenges of saving lives and caring for people in our community in times of crisis. We’re looking for Riding, Non-Riding and Youth Corps members. Our critical need is for riding crew members. As a riding member, along the way you'll learn lifesaving, communications and leadership skills. Plus, you’ll develop the type of self-confidence, compassion and emergency preparedness that only emergency workers can experience and you’ll find yourself making a real difference in people’s lives.

FREE TRAINING- All New members will undergo an orientation program designed to acquaint a person to our EMS operation, equipment and to satisfy all state and federal courses required. In addition, all new members receive basic training in first aid, professional rescuer CPR and (AED) automated external defibrillation. Members interested in becoming a Driver receive basic emergency vehicle operator driving training. Trainees then ride on the ambulance as a vital part of the ambulance crew to gain field training experience. Trainee Crew Members that are interested in pursuing more knowledge and training in the emergency medical services field are offered free New York State Department of Health EMS Training as Certified First Responders or Emergency Medical Technicians. The vital need of the Corps and Community is to have our responders trained as Drivers and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) which form our crews.

Benefit’s of Joining HVAC

The biggest benefit of membership in the Corps is the ability to help a neighbor or stranger in their greatest time of need and the sense of accomplishment and self satisfaction when they turn to you to say “THANK YOU”.

The Corps is a big family where life long friendships are built and you work side by side with fellow members who share the same willingness and dedication to help care for our community.

Haverstraw Ambulance Corps has recognized the significant contributions our volunteer make to our organization and to our community.  We have may members who go above and beyond the minimums that we expect of our members and as an incentive to them, our members receive a few benefits which include:
